Remove image metadata
Prepare photos for sharing by removing embedded EXIF, GPS, capture-date and device information. This does not hide faces or addresses visible in the picture.

How to use this tool
- Choose an image and review the location, capture and device information shown.
- Run removal. The tool re-encodes the image without copying the original metadata into the result.
- Download and check image quality. For sensitive photos, also inspect the result with a separate metadata viewer.
What you get
The image is re-encoded in its original format. Processing may fail if that output format is unsupported, and file size or image quality can change.
Before you start
- Some formats cannot be inspected field by field. “Unknown” does not mean the information is absent.
- Faces, number plates, documents, scenery and filenames can still reveal identity. Metadata removal alone does not make a photo anonymous.
Common questions
Does a photo without GPS tags count as anonymous?
No. The scene itself can contain clues to a person or location, even without location tags.
Will quality be exactly the same?
The file is re-encoded, not preserved byte for byte. Lossy formats in particular can show changes in quality.
Are capture dates and camera details included?
The new image is created without copying the original EXIF, capture and device tags. Individual fields cannot be inspected in every format.
